Sandhills Area

The Sandhills area is best known for golf—and horses. With over 40 golf courses within a thirty mile radius, one can see why it is referred to as "the Golf Capital of the World". The area's many outstanding horse farms and training facilities makes it one of the best-known equestrian facilities in the US.

But there is much more to the Sandhills than golf and horses. Throughout the year, the area enjoys a rich menu of arts and entertainment. The Moore County Arts Council sponsors more than fifty arts organizations; and live theatre, music and art events are offered locally year-round through the Performing Arts Center in Southern Pines and the Community College.

Visitors and new residents alike are astounded at the quality of dining and shopping in the area. One can enjoy fine dining at its best, or relax in one of the many small restaurants, cafes, bakeries and coffee shops with tempting offerings that will satisfy every taste. Shopping abounds in the Village of Pinehurst and Southern Pines, with some of the most unique specialty shops found anywhere. Cameron, just a few miles to the north, is a village of antique stores that one can never get enough of. And Seagrove, just a short drive away, is one of the most popular pottery centers in the country.

Nowhere else can one find such metropolitan activities and opportunities in such a small town atmosphere. The Sandhills area of North Carolina is one of the best-kept secretes in America. Come visit, and find out why yourself.
